My Story
My personal journey to Barcelona and the story behind Daphne Relocation.
About Me
I am an educator, linguist, and relocation specialist based in Barcelona.
My professional journey began in academia, serving as a university language instructor at prestigious Turkish institutions like Middle East Technical University (METU). With a Master’s degree from Bilkent University and years of experience evaluating instructional quality in multinational corporate environments, my career has always been centered on active listening, structural guidance, and analytical problem-solving.
In 2018, I embraced my own big transition when I moved to Spain and married into a local Spanish family. Much like the resilient laurel tree of Daphne, adapting to a new country required patience, flexibility, and growing strong new roots. Living alongside locals enabled me to quickly immerse myself in the region's culture and daily life. Over the years, becoming fluent in Spanish and Catalan allowed me to comfortably master local administrative channels and bureaucratic steps.
Through Daphne Relocation, I combine academic discipline and local insight to serve as a trusted, knowledgeable guide for my clients. Whether you need help navigating local paperwork, finding the right channels for your family, or simply having a trusted guide to help you take root in Barcelona, I am here to make your transition smooth, secure, and stress-free.
Brand Story
Every relocation journey begins with a bold decision: to step beyond the familiar, transform, and take root in a new land.
My story traces back to Antakya—the ancient region steeped in the legendary myth of Daphne, where civilizations and genuine hospitality have crossed paths for millennia. In mythology, Daphne symbolizes transformation, resilience, and finding a safe sanctuary. Today, it serves as the inspiration behind the strong bridge we build between cultures.
Drawing from my own experience moving from Antakya to Spain, I founded Daphne Relocation to offer the trusted guidance I once needed. We support expats, professionals, and families from Turkey and around the world as they settle into Barcelona—guiding them through housing choices, school enrollments, official appointments (citas), and local administration.
I do more than managing paperwork; I blend the warm hospitality and rich heritage of my roots with local Catalan expertise. Just like the evergreen laurel tree (Daphne), I ensure you take firm root in your new life in Barcelona, feeling confident, supported, and truly at home from day one.
